About NEIP
On a cold and wet Friday night (Aug 2nd), over 80 people fought off the winter blues and attended the Anglesea Surf Life Saving Club to show their support for a new project, the Anglesea Neighbourhood Environment Improvement Plan (EIP).
The Neighbourhood EIP is a pilot project being co-ordinated by the EPA and Surf Coast Shire.
Fueled by a commitment to live more sustainably and in greater harmony with Anglesea's unique environment, more than 50 people and organisations have signed up
to participate in the development of the Anglesea Neighbourhood EIP.
Members of the Anglesea community have helped to develop a draft of Anglesea’s Neighbourhood Environment Improvement Plan, an action plan for improving the sustainability of the local community.
Because the community owns the plan, the Anglesea community will also implement the plan, but not without assistance from a whole range of groups and organisations who have agreed to participate in this project.
The NEIP is setup to enable community members to better understand the key issues and to review their
household impacts, as to keep Anglesea a beautiful place to live for years and years to come.
